Teams icon provides a list of all active Teams you are involved in. You will see the main Teams window, which features:
This gives you access to a calendar you can use.
Teams allows for you to call others for face to face presentations.
Files allows you to access data stored in OneDrive or other cloud storage locations. You can add storage from popular locations such as Dropbox, Google Drive and Box.
You can join or create a Team. There are several types of teams you can make. Those are shown below.
Staff teams allow school administrators and teachers to easily share information and work together on school-wide initiatives.
With integrated OneNote Staff Notebooks, the staff can publish school policies for the whole team to access or create individual professional development plans. Staff leaders are team owners and add or remove staff members from the team.
The only type of Team that has Assignments for students, this team is best suited for K-16 learning environments. With the Classes team, you are able to create a shared OneDrive for students, a OneNote Class Notebook, and tabs.
Classes are a team with unique permissions for teachers and students. As owners of the team, teachers assign and review work and create channels and files. Each class team is also linked to its own OneNote Class Notebook.
Within the team, students:
Connect regularly with other educators and continue personal career development through professional learning communities (PLCs) in Microsoft Teams.
Form PLC teams around interest areas, grade levels, or across subjects. New educators can be added at any time, and team members can share files and collaborate in channels, even when they’re not at school. Each PLC team is linked to its own OneNote notebook for further collaboration.
Use this type of team for groups external to the organization.
