On March 9, 2017, Google announced that Hangouts would be targeted at business users with the Hangouts brand divided into two products:
- Hangouts Meet- focused on video conferences
- Hangouts Chat- focused on instant messaging with additional features such as bot assistant and threaded messaging
Google stated in December 2018 that "classic" Hangouts will be disabled at a yet to be confirmed date in future. This page is focused on Hangouts Meet, which you can access online or using an iOS or Android app.
