Your students are having problems understanding science vocabulary words. Illustrate that using a paper slide.
Get 5 sheets of paper
Choose ONE science vocabulary word
On 1 sheet of paper, brainstorm/map it out:
What are three things you want your audience to know about your word?
On 2 sheets of paper, make a slide that illustrates your three things. Use pictures, not words, that define the word.
Make a title slide
Decide who will do what, for example, who will narrate? who will record?
Record in 1-take
Use your favorite technology to create a video of paper slideshow
Upload/Put the video in Seesaw app as explained in Step 4
Instead of creating a video, make an animated GIF of your creation w/o audio. Use one of the animated GIF apps or websites to create an animated GIF from your paper slides. If using
EdPuzzle: With your web browser, use EdPuzzle to embed a short assessment at midpoint and end of your video to check for understanding. Submit the link to your EdPuzzle video with assessment to Seesaw, AND a copy of your video (two components)
Flipgrid.com or LetsRecap.com: Take advantage of either tool to invite your students to share their response to the video
